Our  Library
  • The Prince Sultan College library was established to provide services and facilities to fulfill the information needs of its users. The library is equipped with the latest computers with full access to the Internet. The library is managed by qualified and experienced staff, all dedicated to providing high quality service. The library has adopted international standards for technical processing and readership services.  
  • Prince Sultan Private College meets the needs of the students, teachers and the international research community with an extremely rich and diverse range of library resources.
    Faculties, departments and colleges have libraries of their own from which you may borrow books. The library supports the college curricula by providing numerous full text databases.

  • Services

    Acquisition  
    The Library acquires materials through local book suppliers or direct from the publishers. International booksellers, bookshops and publishers may contact us regarding the supply of books, periodicals etc.  

    Circulation

    The circulation desk is open and staffed during all working hours. All materials are checked in and out of the library and processed there.

    Reference

    Library staff provide reference and research services to all patrons of the Prince Sultan Private College Library.

    Library's Mission

    Prince Sultan Private College Library aims to provide services that enable users to access the latest information regardless of the physical location of the item, or the form in which it is published. 
    The staff of Prince Sultan Private College Library support instructional research and service research programs for the faculty, staff, students and the college community.
    In order to fulfill this mission, the library aquires, organizes and provides access to recorded information regardless of the format.
    The information may be located at various sites both nationally and internationally. To ensure and facilitate access to information resources, it provides access to a wide variety of information and quality educational services in a prompt and efficient manner for users on and off campus.
    Prince Sultan Private College Library relies on suggestions from the students, faculty, college administration and the members of the college community for the future aquisition of  necessary resources that will enable the college and college library to fulfill the shared mission.
    The library is designed to encourage serious research and provides comfortable study areas for users. In addition the facility provides effective, efficient equipment for its users.
    Prince Sultan Private College Library has appropriate numbers of staff members (professional & semi-professional) with the requisite skills, training and resources to provide excellent library services

    Frequently Asked Questions:  

  • Q. Can library users borrow the library materials?  

A. Yes. They can get the books issued for their reading purpose at home, but reference books, reserved books, periodicals, non-book material like CD-ROMs and reports are not lent out.  

  • Q. Can the students of other educational institutes borrow the library materials?  

A. No. However they are welcome to consult the reading materials within the library with the permission of the P.S.C authorities.  

  • Q. I am a bona fide student at P.S.C. May I use the Internet in the library?  

A. Yes. But you must have an active network account.  

  • Q. How can I get the active network account?  

A. You need to fill in an Internet access form and get it signed by the Chairman of the Computer and Information Science Department. Also, you are obliged to abide by the rules regarding the use of the Internet.   

Books

The Library has books both in Arabic and in English.  
As P.S.C library is a specialized library, not a public one, its collection focuses on college teaching programs, such as computer science, economics, marketing and finance etc.    

Periodicals:  

The library contains a periodical collection mostly related to its teaching programs. The following periodicals are examples:  

  • Harvard Business Review  

  • Gulf Business Magazine

  • IEEE Communication

  • IEEE Computer

  • IEEE Network

  • Journal of Accountancy  

  • Journal of Management Information System  

  • Journal of Modern marketing  

 

Loans

All registered users are entitled to borrow books. Lending privileges differ for various categories. Please inquire at the circulation desk for your eligibility status. Renewal and reservation services are also available.

Location Assistance:  

If an item is not available on the shelf, enquiry can be made at the circulation desk. A search will then be made and the client will be informed as soon as the item is located. It will be held at the circulation desk (for three days maximum) for the user to collect.

Internet:  

This service is freely available. Students are enabled to access the Internet for their independent use. The circulation desk provides efficient assistance under the supervision of professional librarians. Inquiries by telephone, fax and e-mail, (library@psc.edu.sa), are welcome.
